Full-timeAbout The Role
We are seeking a Legal Counsel to join Collect Group and support legal matters across our business, with a focus on commercial agreements, payment services, acquiring and corporate governance.
The successful candidate will work closely with management, Compliance and other departments to manage legal risks and support daily operations and business growth. Previous legal experience with payment providers or acquiring businesses is required, while experience in crypto and digital assets will be considered an advantage.
What To Do
- Commercial Agreements: Draft, review and negotiate merchant, acquiring, payment processing, partnership, outsourcing and service provider agreements.
- Legal Advisory: Provide practical legal advice to management and internal teams on business operations, products and commercial arrangements.
- Regulatory Support: Work with Compliance and external advisers on licensing projects, regulatory enquiries and legal requirements relevant to the Group's activities.
- Corporate Governance: Prepare and review corporate documents, resolutions and policies, supporting the maintenance of Group entities and governance arrangements.
- Legal Risk Management: Identify legal risks in contracts, partnerships and business initiatives, recommending appropriate solutions.
- Policies & Documentation: Draft and update terms and conditions, legal notices, internal policies and standard agreement templates.
- Disputes & External Counsel: Support the handling of contractual disputes and legal claims, coordinating with external counsel where necessary.
- Legal Developments: Monitor relevant developments in payments, acquiring and digital assets, advising teams on their business implications.
What's needed
Bachelor's degree in Law; admission to a recognised Bar will be considered an advantage.- Relevant legal experience with a payment provider, acquiring business, EMI or a law firm advising clients in these sectors.
- Strong experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements.
- Good understanding of payment services, merchant acquiring and the associated legal and regulatory environment.
- Ability to translate complex legal matters into clear, practical business advice.
- Strong attention to detail, sound judgement and a commercial approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and collaborate across departments.
- Excellent command of English, with strong legal drafting and communication skills.
- Desirable: Previous experience in crypto or digital assets, familiarity with MiCA, and experience supporting licensing or cross-border legal matters.
